Abstract

Stress has become an important concern in contemporary life because of demanding work schedules, academic pressures, social expectations, financial concerns, and constant digital connectivity. Ayurveda, a traditional Indian system of health knowledge, emphasizes lifestyle balance, daily routines, diet, rest, and individualized approaches to well-being. This paper examines Ayurvedic approaches to stress management and healthy living, focusing on daily routines, dietary practices, sleep, relaxation, physical activity, mindfulness, herbal traditions, social and environmental balance, and contemporary wellness practices. Ayurvedic approaches may encourage individuals to develop regular routines and greater awareness of lifestyle habits. Practices associated with relaxation, mindful activity, appropriate rest, and balanced nutrition may support general well-being. However, traditional Ayurvedic concepts should be distinguished from scientifically established treatments for stress-related disorders, and the safety of specific herbal products can vary. The paper argues that Ayurveda can contribute to discussions of healthy living as a traditional and cultural wellness framework, while responsible use requires evidence-informed choices, attention to individual circumstances, and professional healthcare guidance when stress becomes persistent or severe.
