Traditional Indian Art and Cultural Heritage: Continuity and Change

Abstract

This paper examines the changing landscape of contemporary art in relation to technology,
culture, audience participation and institutional practice. It considers how digital tools and
new communication channels influence creative production, circulation and reception. The
paper also discusses opportunities, challenges, stakeholder implications and future directions,
with emphasis on accessibility, creativity, cultural value and responsible practice. Traditional
Indian art represents cultural memory, craftsmanship and community knowledge developed
across generations. Painting, textiles, crafts, sculpture and performance practices continue to
evolve as artists respond to changing markets, technologies and social conditions. Heritage
