This paper examines the changing landscape of contemporary art in relation to technology,
culture, audience participation and institutional practice. It considers how digital tools and
new communication channels influence creative production, circulation and reception. The
paper also discusses opportunities, challenges, stakeholder implications and future directions,
with emphasis on accessibility, creativity, cultural value and responsible practice. Digital
technologies have expanded the tools available to artists and changed the ways creative work
is produced, documented, exhibited and circulated. Digital photography, video, computerbased
design, interactive media and online platforms create new possibilities for
experimentation and communication. The transformation also changes relationships among
artists, artworks, audiences and cultural institutions.
