Abstract

Holistic wellness emphasizes the interconnected physical, psychological, social, and behavioural dimensions of health. Contemporary patient care increasingly recognizes the importance of individual preferences, communication, quality of life, self-care, and participation in healthcare decisions. Homeopathy is a longstanding complementary system that remains used in several countries, including India. This paper examines homeopathy from the perspective of holistic wellness and contemporary patient care. It discusses whole-person perspectives, patient preferences, individualized consultations, communication, perceived wellness, quality of life, safety, evidence, professional ethics, and coordination with conventional healthcare. Some patients may value the individualized attention and supportive interaction associated with complementary consultations. However, these experiences should be distinguished from evidence of specific clinical effectiveness. Major scientific assessments have not established reliable evidence that homeopathy is effective for specific medical conditions beyond placebo effects. A responsible holistic approach should therefore respect patient autonomy while providing transparent information about evidence, uncertainty, safety, and appropriate alternatives.
