Preventive healthcare focuses on reducing health risks, promoting healthy behaviours, identifying problems early, and supporting long-term well-being. Ayurveda, as a traditional system of medicine with a long history in South Asia, places considerable emphasis on daily routines, diet, lifestyle, seasonal practices, personal care, and maintaining balance. These themes have relevance to contemporary interest in lifestyle-based healthcare and health promotion. This paper examines the role of Ayurveda in preventive and lifestyle-based healthcare, focusing on daily routines, nutrition, physical activity, mental well-being, seasonal practices, self-care, individualized approaches, public health, research, regulation, and safety. It also considers how traditional Ayurvedic perspectives can be studied alongside modern preventive medicine. The paper emphasizes that traditional lifestyle concepts may provide useful areas for research and health promotion, but specific therapeutic claims and products require scientific evaluation. A responsible approach should combine respect for traditional knowledge with evidence-informed practice, quality assurance, professional guidance, and timely access to established preventive and medical services.
