Ayurveda is one of the world's longstanding traditional systems of medicine and remains an important part of India's pluralistic healthcare landscape. Its traditional approach emphasizes lifestyle, diet, daily routines, prevention, and individualized approaches to well-being. In contemporary healthcare, interest in holistic wellness has increased as individuals and health systems place greater attention on prevention, healthy living, stress management, and patient-centred care. This paper examines the relationship between Ayurvedic traditional knowledge and contemporary holistic wellness. It discusses Ayurvedic concepts, lifestyle practices, nutrition, preventive health, herbal approaches, individualized care, cultural relevance, research, safety, regulation, and opportunities for responsible integration with modern healthcare. The paper emphasizes that traditional knowledge can contribute perspectives on lifestyle and well-being, while specific therapeutic claims require appropriate scientific evaluation. A balanced approach should preserve cultural knowledge while promoting evidence-informed practice, quality assurance, informed choice, and patient safety.
