Abstract

Biochemistry provides the molecular foundation for understanding health, disease, diagnosis, nutrition, pharmacology, and modern therapeutic development. It examines the chemical processes occurring within living organisms, including metabolism, enzyme activity, protein function, nucleic-acid regulation, cellular signaling, and molecular interactions. Advances in biochemical techniques have transformed healthcare by enabling precise diagnostic testing, biomarker discovery, drug development, nutritional assessment, molecular genetics, and personalized medicine. This paper examines nine major dimensions of the applications of biochemistry in modern healthcare, including clinical biochemistry, diagnostic biomarkers, enzymology, molecular medicine, pharmaceutical development, nutrition, genetic analysis, disease monitoring, and emerging healthcare technologies.
