Mental health and emotional balance are important components of overall well-being and quality of life. Modern lifestyles can expose individuals to stress, sleep disruption, sedentary behaviour, social pressures, and other factors that may affect psychological well-being. Yoga is a traditional mind-body practice that combines physical postures, breathing techniques, relaxation, concentration, and meditation. This paper examines the role of yoga in promoting mental health and emotional balance, focusing on stress management, mindfulness, emotional regulation, sleep, self-awareness, physical activity, and quality of life. Research suggests that yoga may provide supportive benefits for perceived stress, anxiety symptoms, mood, and general psychological well-being in some populations, although evidence varies across interventions and individuals. The paper emphasizes that yoga is best used as a complementary wellness practice and should not replace professional mental healthcare when clinically indicated.
