Panchakarma is a group of classical therapeutic procedures described in Ayurvedic medicine and traditionally associated with cleansing, restoration, and the management of health according to Ayurvedic principles. It is generally presented as a structured process involving preparatory measures, selected therapeutic procedures, and post-procedure dietary and lifestyle practices. In contemporary wellness settings, Panchakarma has attracted attention as part of traditional Ayurvedic health programmes. This paper examines the role of Panchakarma in traditional Ayurvedic wellness practices, focusing on its historical and conceptual foundations, preparatory procedures, major therapeutic approaches, dietary and lifestyle practices, individualized application, potential relevance to wellness, safety considerations, and the need for scientific evaluation. The paper emphasizes that Panchakarma procedures should be undertaken only under appropriately qualified professional .
