Abstract

Preventive healthcare focuses on maintaining health, reducing risk factors, identifying health problems at an early stage, and supporting healthy lifestyles. Ayurveda, a traditional Indian system of health knowledge, places considerable emphasis on prevention through diet, daily routines, seasonal practices, physical activity, sleep, personal habits, and attention to individual well-being. This paper examines the contribution of Ayurveda to preventive healthcare, with particular attention to lifestyle regulation, nutrition, physical activity, sleep, traditional herbal practices, mental well-being, health awareness, and contemporary integration. It also discusses the need for scientific evaluation, quality standards, appropriate professional guidance, and coordination with evidence-based preventive healthcare.
