Abstract

Astrology has traditionally interpreted human behaviour through symbolic relationships between celestial bodies and events occurring on Earth. Planetary positions are considered an important component of astrological interpretation because different planets are associated with themes such as communication, emotion, motivation, relationships, discipline, and personal development. This paper examines the astrological perspective on planetary positions and human behaviour, focusing on planetary symbolism, birth charts, emotional patterns, communication, relationships, decision-making, life transitions, digital astrology, and critical perspectives. From an astrological viewpoint, the positions and relationships of planets are interpreted as symbolic indicators of behavioural tendencies and personal experiences. These interpretations may provide individuals with a framework for self-reflection and meaning-making. However, scientific evidence does not establish planetary positions as reliable causes or predictors of human behaviour. Human behaviour is shaped by complex biological, psychological, social, and environmental factors. The paper therefore presents planetary astrology as a cultural and interpretive system rather than an empirically established behavioural science. A balanced perspective can recognize the historical and contemporary significance of astrological interpretations while maintaining a clear distinction between symbolic beliefs and evidence-based explanations of behaviour.
